Gandona 2018 ‘Meia’ Estate Napa Valley Cabernet Franc

Situated in the heart of the estate—Meia, Portuguese for “middle”, encompasses the best of both the steep slope of the terraces Gandona is known for, and the perpendicular row orientation of the less extreme avenue blocks — characteristics that are directly reflected in the style of the wine produced from the block. Historically used to add complexity and depth to Encosta, the exceptional success of the Cabernet Franc in the “meia” of the estate in 2018 compelled Gandona to bottle a limited quantity of it, an event only to be repeated when the vintage allows it…the last one was 2014!
