A hallmark of his style, Thomas masterfully wields non-interventional winemaking techniques to create Pinot Noir and Chardonnay of stunning character and dazzling finesse. Thomas has been intimately involved in the Boars’ View vineyard from the beginning and continues to oversee all aspects of vineyard practices and winemaking, guiding the ins-and-outs of the growing season to produce fruit of peerless purity and character.

THE WINE

For the Inaugural vintage of this wine Thomas selected specific barrels to create a dark complex Pinot Noir full of fruit, spice & structure.  In the glass, this wine exhibits a nearly opaque purple-red hue.  Waves of aromas suggest red licorice, pomegranate reduction, pennroyal mint & lavender oil.  The bold, dynamic palate suggest notes of macerated boysenberry, cedar shavings, black cherry, oolong tea and crushed river rock. The entry of this wines starts with a fruit-forward expression & develops more structure finishing with a pretty, floral quality.  This wine is easily enjoyable now with its abundance of fruit & great natural balance & acidity. The soil at Boars’ View Estate was the perfect fit to concentrate flavor and produce wine with bright, well-balanced acid, ultimately leading to the intriguing and profound wine that is Boars’ View.
